Meet Andy
The Heart Behind Skillsterz
Hi, I’m Andy Bell – founder of Skillsterz and a passionate advocate for making sport inclusive, enjoyable, and accessible for everyone.

With over 20 years of experience in coaching, mentoring, and inclusive sport, I’ve been fortunate to work across schools, care settings, national events and community programmes. Over the years, I found myself increasingly drawn to disability and adaptive sport – and the more I did, the more I realised this was where I could make the biggest difference.

The real turning point came when I looked at how much of my time and energy was naturally gravitating toward this work. It wasn’t just a part of what I did – it was what I loved. The moments where someone who never thought they could join in suddenly found their confidence, their team, their smile – that’s what stuck with me. I knew I wanted to build something that focused entirely on that.

I’m also a proud husband to Lorna and dad to our amazing little boy, Jax. Starting a family gave me even more motivation to build something meaningful – something that champions inclusion, celebrates difference, and creates real joy in movement. I’ve also formed close friendships with families of children with additional needs, and they’ve shown me just how powerful inclusive sport can be in building confidence, connection, and belonging.

Skillsterz was born to make sure no one misses out on the benefits of being active. Whether it’s in a care home, school hall, day centre or park – we create safe, welcoming spaces where everyone, of any age or ability, can play, grow and thrive.

Why "Skillsterz"?
The name Skillsterz was born from a simple belief — that everyone has skills worth celebrating. Whether it’s balance, coordination, confidence, teamwork or simply the courage to try something new, we all have something valuable to bring to the game.
We wanted a name that felt fun, modern and inclusive, just like our sessions. The ‘z’ adds a playful twist — because we’re not about perfection, we’re about participation. At Skillsterz, it’s not about being the best, it’s about being your best.
Our Mission
At Skillsterz, our mission is simple:
To make physical activity inclusive, enjoyable, and accessible for everyone — no matter their age, ability, or background.
We believe movement is a right, not a privilege. That’s why we create adaptable, engaging sports sessions that meet people where they are — whether that’s in a school hall, a care home, or a community centre.

We’re here to break down barriers, build confidence, and bring people together through the power of sport.
Because at Skillsterz, everyone can play — and everyone deserves the chance to thrive.
Our Values
At Skillsterz, everything we do is grounded in a core set of values that guide our delivery, relationships, and impact:

Inclusion
We welcome everyone, adapt for everyone, and believe every individual deserves to feel part of something.

Understanding
We take the time to listen, learn and tailor every session to the people in front of us — no assumptions, no one-size-fits-all.

Joy
Sport should be fun. Our sessions are filled with laughter, positivity and moments that make people feel good.

Empowerment
We build confidence, celebrate progress, and help every participant feel proud of what they can do — not limited by what they can’t.

Connection
Skillsterz is about more than sport — it’s about bringing people together, building friendships, and creating a sense of belonging.
Our Team
Our team is made up of passionate, experienced and highly qualified coaches who share one goal — to make sport inclusive, fun and accessible for everyone.

Every Skillsterz coach is:

✅ Fully insured and licensed
✅ Enhanced DBS checked
✅ First Aid trained
✅ Safeguarding trained
✅ A qualified and experienced sports coach

But beyond the qualifications, what sets our team apart is their heart. We understand that no two participants are the same — that’s why we lead with empathy, adapt with care, and deliver with energy.

Whether we’re in a care home lounge, a school sports hall, or a community park, you can trust that you’re in safe, capable hands with Skillsterz.
